Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/getting-started/ This walk-through takes about twenty minutes. You will fill your profile, run a search, tailor a CV and draft an e-mail. Nothing is sent. ## Before you begin Careers is invite-only in early access. You need an account, which you get by [requesting access](/request-access/) and signing in once your place is ready. If you use Geenius OS you can sign in with that account. The first page after sign-in is **Today**. It shows what is ready (profile, sender, mail key, Geenius OS link), drafts waiting for you, what goes out today and your stage counts. For a new account it shows three steps. They are the steps below. ## 1. Fill your master profile Open **Profile**. You can import your existing CV (a PDF) to start, or start fresh. The profile has sections: headline and summary variants, skills, roles, projects, education, languages and rules per country. It saves as you type. Read [Master profile](/docs/master-profile/) for what each part is for. Give every skill some **evidence**: the role or project where you used it. The evidence is what lets Careers say "covered". ## 2. Run a search Open **Jobs**. Type what you look for into the search bar, for example `TypeScript React`. Use **Filters** for contract type, EU-friendly, languages and a rate floor, and **More boards** to choose the boards. Results are scored against your profile. Read [Searching](/docs/searching/). ## 3. Read a score Click a result. The **Overview** tab shows the fit and its reasons: requirements you cover with the evidence behind them, and requirements that are missing. Missing stays missing and is not added to your CV. Save the posting to your pipeline, or go to the next step. ## 4. Tailor a CV On the posting, open the **CV** tab. Careers draws one tailored CV from your profile, with three to five key qualifications chosen for this posting. Pick a design, a length and a density from the presets, and read the CV. The **Letter** tab holds the cover letter. Read [Tailoring](/docs/tailoring/). ## 5. Draft the e-mail Open the **E-mail** tab and create the draft. It uses the tailored letter, your tone and the CV as an attachment. Read it. You cannot send yet unless you have set up sending: see [Set up sending](/docs/mail-setup/). When you are ready, approve the exact message and it is scheduled. > [!TIP] > Do the first run with a posting you do not care about, and without sending. See how the outbox, the schedule and the cancel button behave before a posting that matters. ## What next - [Searching](/docs/searching/) and the [morning digest](/docs/morning-digest/). - [Designs and exports](/docs/designs-and-exports/). - [Interview rehearsal](/docs/interview-rehearsal/). --- # Master profile > How the Careers master profile is structured: skills with aliases and evidence, roles with engagements, projects, languages and rules per country, plus import and the original CV. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/master-profile/ The master profile is the data. Tailored CVs are outputs. Nothing about you is in the code: your profile is a row in your account, and your rules are your settings. ## What it holds | Part | What it is for | |---|---| | Headline and summary variants | Different openings for different kinds of posting | | Skills | Each with aliases (Postgres for PostgreSQL) and the evidence: the roles and projects where you used it | | Roles | With engagements (clients, projects) and the lines that describe them, each line with its own id and source | | Projects, education, languages | As on any CV, with your language levels | | Per-country rules | Location, registration and document language for each client country | | Translations | Your own German (or other) versions of lines, so a German CV uses your words | ## Skills and evidence A skill without evidence is only a claim. When a posting asks for TypeScript, Careers checks the skill and its aliases and finds the roles where you used it. That is what turns "TypeScript" into "3 roles, 6 years of evidence" on the match. ## Rules per country A rule says what goes on the CV for a client in a country: - **Location**: the city you list, for example a Dutch city for Dutch clients and a German city for German ones. - **Registration**: how you describe your status, for example "ZZP, KvK-registered" in the Netherlands or "Freelancer" in Germany. - **Document language**: German postings get German documents from your German lines; Dutch postings get English documents. These are your settings. Set only what is true for you. ## Import, autosave and the original CV Import your existing CV to start, or import a profile file. The page autosaves. You can also keep your **original CV**, one PDF of up to 10 MB, and compare it side by side with a tailored version. The file is checked in your browser and again on the server before it is stored. > [!WARNING] > The truth check keeps documents faithful to your profile. If the profile is wrong, the documents are wrong. Read your profile like a witness statement. ## For your AI An AI connected through Geenius OS can read the profile with the `profile` tool. It reads the profile of the workspace owner and cannot replace it by import. --- # Searching > How the Careers search works: the twelve boards, filters, deduplication, the explained fit score, office days, saved searches and what to do for boards without public data. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/searching/ Careers searches many boards in one go, filters and deduplicates the postings, stores them and scores each one against your profile. ## The boards | Kind | Boards | |---|---| | Freelance, Netherlands and Germany | Freelance.nl, freelancermap, GULP | | Permanent, Germany | Bundesagentur für Arbeit, GermanTechJobs, Arbeitnow | | Remote | Himalayas, RemoteOK, Remotive, We Work Remotely, Jobicy, Hacker News "Who is hiring" | That is twelve. Freelance comes first in the lists. ## Filters - **Contract type** and **EU-friendly**. - **Languages**: a posting that asks for a language outside your working languages is not shown. A posting only written in Dutch that never asks for Dutch is kept and tagged "posting in Dutch". - **Rate floor** for the digest. - **Office days**: Careers reads "3 office days a week", "2 dagen per week op kantoor", "hybrid 3/2", "Büro 3 Tage", "fully remote" and similar from the posting. Postings are deduplicated across boards on a normalised address, so the same job from two boards appears once. ## The fit score Each posting has one number, the **Fit**, with its reasons. It is a coverage of what the posting asks for against your profile, with the evidence. Before you have a profile, results are ranked on your search words and the reasons say so. ## Boards without public data Upwork, Hays, Striive, LinkedIn and Malt have no public data. For them Careers gives ready-made searches and a **paste box**: paste a posting and it is stored, deduplicated and scored like any other. An AI agent with a browser can import what it read with `jobs save`. > [!HONEST] > Careers does not scrape sites that have no public data. ## Shortcuts In the list: `J` and `K` move, `Enter` opens, `S` saves, and `/` focuses the search bar. ## From a result Save it to your pipeline (stage "saved", nothing is drafted or sent), or open it to tailor. The **Tracked** page lists every job with a stage and its next step in words. --- # The morning digest > Opt in to a daily digest of strong new matches: saved search, an hour in your time zone, a rate floor, and optional saving to your pipeline. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/morning-digest/ The morning digest saves a search as it stands and runs it for you every day, so strong new postings come to you. ## Turn it on In **Jobs**, open **Daily search** and choose: - the words, the boards you ticked, the languages and a rate floor, - an hour, in your time zone, - whether to **save strong matches to your pipeline**. The digest is opt-in per account. Boards default to Freelance.nl, freelancermap and GULP. ## What you get Strong new matches since yesterday with the one-line reason for each, and the number of weaker ones that were left out. Strong means a score of 75 or more by default. ## For your AI An AI connected through Geenius OS can read the same thing with `jobs digest` (strong matches since a time) or `jobs since_digest` (what is new since your last digest, and whether the daily digest is on). > [!NOTE] > A digest only reads boards and stores postings. It never drafts or sends an e-mail. --- # Tailoring a CV and letter > How Careers tailors a CV and cover letter for one posting from your master profile: key qualifications, the truth check, languages, versions and the offline engine versus your AI. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/tailoring/ For each posting Careers stores **one content version**: the fullest CV and letter that fit the posting, with a priority on every part that can be left out. A design then draws it at the length and density you choose. ## What it does 1. Extracts the posting's requirements. 2. Explains the match: covered with evidence, missing never claimed. 3. Chooses three to five **key qualifications**: your own statements and statements derived from your facts (such as whole years in the freelance role and its industries), plus up to two proof lines for must-haves you cover. 4. Selects and orders your lines. Everything keeps the id of its source. 5. Writes the letter from the same facts. ## The truth check The check runs on every saved CV and letter. - **CV**: a line with no source, a number that is not in its source, or a skill not on your list is refused or put back to the source line. - **Letters and e-mails**: checked sentence by sentence. Numbers, years of experience, skills, employers, titles, credentials, achievements, spoken languages, contact data and the signature must trace to your profile or the posting. A failure refuses the save and names each sentence and why. Opinion, such as "I am excited about this role", is free. ## Languages A German posting gets a German CV and letter, built from your own German lines. A Dutch posting gets English documents with one controlled line saying that you write in English. Dutch is written only for a profile that lists it above basic. A letter is never machine-translated. ## Offline engine or your AI | Mode | Label | What it is | |---|---|---| | Offline engine | Offline engine | Deterministic, in your browser: selects, orders and lightly rephrases your lines | | Your AI's rewrite | Your AI's rewrite | Your own AI rewords a version through Geenius OS and saves it. The check still applies | An AI rewrite **inside the app** belongs to the AI features of Premium and Max, which are switched off in early access. ## Versions Editing a version is the same CV. A new tailoring is a new version. An unsent application follows each new version; a sent one keeps the version it went out with. ## Counting A tailored CV is counted once per posting, when it is first tailored. Deleting one gives nothing back. See [Plans and limits](/docs/plans-and-limits/). --- # Designs and exports > Choose a CV design, a length and a density, compare with your original CV, and download PDF or DOCX. Set an account default and override it per posting. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/designs-and-exports/ Every CV works in every design. Length and density are separate choices. ## The three choices | Choice | Options | |---|---| | Design | More than ten, from Sidebar, ATS, Executive, Swiss, Midnight, Editorial, Timeline and Technical to many more. The gallery is searchable and filterable | | Length | 1 page, 2 pages, multi-page | | Density | Concise, standard, full | A combination is a labelled preset, for example "Two columns · concise · 1 page". There are no unlabelled duplicates. ## On a posting The **CV** tab shows the gallery with every design drawn from this posting's CV. Mark favourites, change length and density, and open the side-by-side comparison with your **original CV**. ## Defaults In **Settings** you choose the account default preset, for example "Two columns · full · 2 pages". Each posting can override it. ## Downloads PDF and DOCX, for the CV and for the letter. In the e-mail draft you choose whether the letter is attached too. ## A note on ATS Some employers use systems that read CVs automatically. The **ATS** design is plain and linear for them. ## What you see on the page Dates follow the language: English "Jan – Mar 2025", German "01/2025 – 03/2025". The spaces in a range do not break across lines. Text breaks first-fit and a paragraph never ends on one lone word. --- # Applying and the outbox > How Careers application e-mails work: draft, read, approve, scheduled delivery in business hours, cancelling, replies matched to threads, and the pipeline. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/applying/ An application e-mail goes through four states: **draft**, **approved and scheduled**, **sent** (or failed), and **replies**. > [!HONEST] > Nothing is sent without your approval of that exact message. No setting changes that, and AI assistants have no send or approve action. ## Draft On a posting, open the **E-mail** tab and create the draft. It uses the tailored letter, in the CV's language, with the tailored CV attached and optionally the letter. The recipient is taken from the posting when it names one. Edit anything you like. ## Approve Choose **Send** to review. The screen shows the exact message: from, to, subject, text and attachments. **Approve and schedule** approves that revision. If anyone edits the draft afterwards, the approval no longer holds and you read it again. ## Scheduled An approved e-mail goes out after a random delay (7 to 25 minutes by default), moved into Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 18:00 in the **recipient's time zone**, and at most the daily limit (10 by default per account). You can **cancel** while it is scheduled, and it becomes a draft again. You change the delay, the window and the limit in Mail settings. ## Sent, failed, replies The outbox lists drafts, scheduled, sent, failed and received messages. Replies you forward to your Careers address are matched to their thread and application. See [Set up sending](/docs/mail-setup/) for forwarding. ## The pipeline **Tracked** lists every job with a stage (saved, drafted, applied, interview and so on) and its next step in words. The **Activity** tab of a posting shows its history. ## AI assistants An AI can create and edit drafts and **ask for approval**: it then shows as "Waiting for you" in your outbox, with a note. Only you approve. See [Use with your AI](/docs/use-with-your-ai/). --- # Set up sending > Set up application e-mail in Careers: your own Resend account and verified domain, the key in Mail settings, delay and limits, and forwarding replies from Gmail. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/mail-setup/ Careers sends applications with **your own** Resend account, from your own domain. It never falls back to a key of ours: without your key, approval is refused and a scheduled send fails with "Add your Resend key in Mail settings". > [!HONEST] > This takes a few steps outside Careers, mostly at your DNS host. Plan half an hour the first time. You can do everything else in Careers without it. ## 1. A sending domain in Resend 1. Create a Resend account and add your domain (for example the one you use for e-mail). 2. Publish the records Resend shows at your DNS host: the DKIM TXT, the SPF TXT and MX on the `send` subdomain (for bounces), and optionally a DMARC TXT. 3. Wait for the domain to show **Verified**. Until then every send fails with a message that says to verify your domain. ## 2. Mail settings in Careers Open **Settings**, then **Mail**. - Your name, the from address on the verified domain, and a reply-to (your everyday inbox). - Your **Resend API key** under Sending provider, then **Check domain**. The key is sealed when saved. - Your signature, the delay window, the daily limit, your time zone and per-country defaults. - Two or three example e-mails, so drafts sound like you. ## 3. Replies Replies need an address that Careers can read. 1. In Mail settings choose **Create my inbound address**. It looks like `careers+@`. 2. In Gmail, add that address under Forwarding, confirm it (the confirmation arrives as a message in your outbox), then create a filter, for example on subjects containing "application", "bewerbung" or "Re: Application", that forwards to it. 3. Replies are then matched to their thread by the token and the forwarding headers. The receiving domain and the webhook are set up by the operator of the Careers deployment (for the hosted app, that is us). ## Limits and kindness The defaults (random delay, business hours of the recipient, ten a day) are there to protect your reputation as a sender. Raise them carefully. ## Test first Send your first application to yourself or a friend with approval, and see how it arrives. --- # Interview rehearsal > Practise interview questions drawn from a real posting, one at a time, with answers marked against a published rubric. Works without any AI. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/interview-rehearsal/ Rehearsal is on every posting, in the **Rehearse** tab, and on its own under **Interview**. It is part of the **Premium and Max** plans. ## How it works 1. Careers builds two or three questions from the posting's own words, such as the stack it names or whether it is a contract, ahead of a general set. 2. You answer one question at a time. 3. Each answer is marked against a **rubric**: length, structure, evidence, ownership, the posting's vocabulary, and the question's "a good answer covers" list. Every mark says which rule gave it. The feedback is labelled as a rubric, never as a model's judgement. ## Using it well - Answer out loud first, then type the version you would say. - Look for "result with a number": it is the part most answers miss. - Redo a question after reading the rubric. > [!HONEST] > It needs no model: the questions and marks come from the posting and a published rubric. The plan gate is the same as for the AI features, so Pro does not include it. The rubric is good at structure and evidence. It does not judge taste or tone. There is no AI-written feedback in early access. --- # Use Careers with your AI > Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Grok to Careers through Geenius OS: it searches, tailors and drafts, and only you approve what is sent. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/use-with-your-ai/ Careers has no built-in AI in early access. Your own AI, Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, helps through Geenius OS: it reads your profile and postings, drafts a tailored CV and letter, and puts e-mail drafts in your outbox. It never sends: only you approve. > [!HONEST] > Careers reaches your AI only through Geenius OS. Careers must be added to your Geenius OS workspace, and your AI connects to Geenius OS once. During early access Careers is invite-only. ## Connect in three steps 1. In Geenius OS, an owner or admin adds Careers to the workspace (Apps, Add to this workspace). Each workspace keeps its own apps. 2. In your AI, add the Geenius OS connector at this address and sign in with your Geenius OS account: ```text title="The Geenius OS address" https://secret-manatee-824.convex.site/mcp ``` In Claude: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector. In ChatGPT or Grok: add a remote MCP server. 3. Ask your AI to use Careers. It now has a tool called `geenius_careers`. The same address is shown in the app under **Settings**, **Connections**, with the name of the Geenius OS workspace your Careers space belongs to. ## How a call looks The tool takes a `tool` (the area), an `action` (the verb) and `args`. ```json title="Search the boards" { "tool": "jobs", "action": "search", "args": { "query": "TypeScript React", "freelance_only": true, "top": 5 } } ``` Every call acts in the Careers space of your Geenius OS workspace, after a plan check. ## Your first ask ```text title="A first ask" Use Geenius OS and my Careers account. Read my profile, then find the five best new freelance postings for TypeScript and React. For the best one, get the tailoring draft, reword it using only my facts, save it, and put an application e-mail in my outbox for approval. ``` Your AI searches, tailors, saves and drafts. You open the outbox, read the exact message and approve it, or not. ## The tools ::mcp-tools Ask for the actions of an area with `action: "help"`, and for one action's arguments with `action: "help"` and `of`. ## Rules that protect you - **No send.** There is no send or approve action. Only a signed-in person can approve, in the app. - **Truth check.** A saved CV is repaired line by line against your profile. A letter or e-mail with an unsupported sentence (a number, a skill, an employer, a credential, an achievement that is not in your profile or the posting) is refused, and the refusal names the sentence. - **Your profile.** An agent reads the profile of the workspace owner and cannot replace it by import. - **Languages.** A German posting gets a German CV and letter. A Dutch posting gets English documents with one controlled line saying you write in English. A letter is never machine-translated. > [!TIP] > A skill called `careers` teaches your AI these rules. Ask your AI to read it from Geenius OS before you start. --- # jobs > Reference for the jobs tool: search the boards, list stored postings, save to the pipeline, read the morning digest. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/reference/jobs/ The jobs tool searches the public boards, lists what is stored (best match first) and holds the saved pipeline. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/plans-and-limits/ Careers has three plans and no free plan. Payments are in test mode during early access, so nothing is charged yet. | | Pro | Premium | Max | |---|---|---|---| | Price per month | €9 | €19 | €49 | | Tailored CVs per month | 30 | 60 | Unlimited | | CV documents | 25 | 50 | Unlimited | | Search, digests, outbox | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Interview rehearsal on a rubric | No | Yes | Yes | | AI features inside the app | No | Carried, off in early access | Carried, off in early access | Your own AI through Geenius OS works on **every plan**. ## What is counted - **Tailored CVs** are counted once per posting, when it is first tailored. Editing a version is the same CV. Deleting one gives nothing back. - **CV documents** are the CV documents you keep. ## When you reach a limit Creating one more than your plan allows is refused and the app shows a sheet with the plans. Nothing is deleted. ## Geenius OS A Geenius OS plan includes the matching Careers plan: OS Pro includes Pro, OS Premium includes Premium and OS Max includes Max. You sign in with the same account. ## Trials There is no trial period. A promo key from us can grant a 7, 14 or 30 day trial. Enter it on the Plan page. --- # Troubleshooting > Fixes for common Careers problems: no results, a missing requirement, a refused save, an approval that will not go through, mail that fails, and an AI that cannot see Careers. Source: https://careers.geenius-os.tech/docs/troubleshooting/ ## My search shows few or no results Loosen the filters (languages, contract type, rate floor), tick more boards, or try fewer words. A posting that asks for a language outside your working languages is hidden on purpose; check your languages in your profile. ## A skill the posting wants is shown as missing, but I have it Add it to your profile with its evidence, or add an alias (for example Postgres for PostgreSQL). Careers only counts what is in the profile. ## The save was refused and names a sentence The truth check found a sentence that does not trace to your profile or the posting: a number, a skill, an employer, a credential or an achievement. Rewrite it with facts from the profile, or add the fact to the profile first if it is true. ## I cannot approve the e-mail Check, in order: (1) your Resend key is saved in Mail settings, (2) your domain shows Verified, (3) you have not changed the draft since opening the review screen (an edit invalidates the approval; open it again), (4) you are signed in as yourself: only you can approve. ## "Add your Resend key in Mail settings" Careers never sends with a key of ours. Add yours: [Set up sending](/docs/mail-setup/). ## The e-mail failed to send Open the message in the outbox for the reason. The most common cause is a domain that is not verified yet, or a from address outside the verified domain. ## Replies do not show up Check that the forwarding address in Gmail is confirmed and that the filter matches the reply. Replies are matched by the token of your address. ## My AI cannot see Careers 1. Careers must be added to your Geenius OS workspace (Apps, Add to this workspace). An AI that calls it before then gets `NOT_IN_WORKSPACE`. 2. Check that the connector is added and approved in your AI, then start a new chat. 3. Ask your AI to call `help` on the `jobs` tool. ## PLAN_REQUIRED or LIMIT_REACHED Your workspace has no Careers plan, or you reached a count of your plan. See [Plans and limits](/docs/plans-and-limits/). ## Still stuck? [Write to us](/contact/) with what you did and what you saw. --- # Glossary > The words used by Careers in plain language: master profile, posting, fit, evidence, tailored CV, source line, truth check, design, preset, outbox, approval and more.
